What sort of packing are we using for export ?

For different materials we use different packing types. For example, for tiles we use standard wooden pallets and for slabs we use special metal bases. In some tiles sizes like 12”x12” first we put the tiles in foam boxes, then put some foam boxes in a wooden pallets.

Where do we export ?

All over the world.

What is our payment policy ?

For initial orders, we always prefer to work on LC base (100 % Irrevocable at sight), but in next orders, we can accept 30, 45 and 60 days LC as well. Other payment terms like C.A.D will be acceptable by negotiation.

What is our loading quantity ?

We normally use 20' containers for exporting Stones. For tiles and blocks we use ordinary containers and for slabs, we have to use OT (Open Top) containers. We are able to load the 20' containers with average 800 m² tiles. This quantitiy is for our normal thicknesses (less  than 2 cm). In fact materials thicknesses will directly affect the loading quantity. The more the thickness is, the less the container can be loaded. Please find some loading information below

Slabs:

  • 2 cm Thickness 450~500 m²
  • 3 cm Thickness 350~ 400 m²

Tiles:

  • 1 cm Thickness 800~900 m²
  • 1.2 cm Thickness 800~850 m²
  • 1.5 cm Thickness 600~650 m²
  • 2 cm Thickness 500~550 m²
  • 3 cm Thickness 400~450 m²

What is the lead-time for ordering ?

Call, email or fax us your order and we will let you know what we have in stock.  We stock large quantities of stone pavers and tile so you will have a good chance that the order and shipping process would take about 1 week.  If we have to order, lead-time is 6-8 weeks.

What is marble ?

True geological marble is limestone that has been subjected to great pressure and heat, which has changed its structure to a crystalline, sugary texture. It is generally white or whitish, sometimes translucent, with some veining or color provided by other minerals present at its formation.

What is limestone ?

Limestone is sedimentary rock consisting mostly of organic material such as skeletons and shells of marine creatures and sediments. It is formed by material which settles to the bottom of bodies of water, and over millions of years, solidifies  into solid rock. Earth movements over extremely long periods of earth's history can lift limestone miles into the air. The summit of Mount Everest is limestone that started out on an ocean floor.

What is travertine ?

Travertine stone is a form of limestone. It often forms near hot bubbly mineral rich springs. Gas bubbles become trapped and create a pitted surface on the stone. These pitted surfaces can be filled with an epoxy or dust resin. Filling the small holes and pits gives the travertine a more finished look. A refined beauty. The stone surface can also be left in its natural state with the small holes and pits unfilled. This is a warmer aged look which will acquire a beautiful patina over time. Leaving the stone unfilled will affect the durability. It will stain and attract dirt much easier than a filled travertine.

What is the difference between travertine, limestone and marble ?

Limestone is the youngest of all these stones.  Actually, limestone is a sedimentary stone usually found in ocean beds.  Typically,  limestone is not very interesting however, most of the buildings around the world have been built with sedimentary limestone.  It is the most common building material in the world.  Travertine is a type of "morphed" limestone but it is created from Artesian wells which means lime has been deposited by water.  Travertine makes an excellent use for any indoor or outdoor area because it never gets hot (no metal content in the stone), it is twice the strength of concrete and is non-slippery.  Travertine is durable for any application both commercially and residential - it is about 50 million years old.  Marble, on the other hand, is about 100 million years old and is perfect for the same applications as travertine.  Since marble is older, it typically will be "veinier" and less "wild" than the travertines.

How do you seal stone and what do you use ?

We  recommends any good impregnating sealer product that can be purchased from a tile/stone supplier or showroom.  Sealing the stone with an impregnating sealer requires just a sponge wipe application.  It will take a few minutes to wipe on the sealer (no need to be careful as to what motion since the sealer penetrates into the stone and you don't see it).  The only way to know if you need to seal again is to drop water on the stone and if it still beads up, you are good to go.  Keep testing every couple of months.

What is the difference between filled and unfilled ?

Filled stone is when the factory actually fills the stone with a polyester "fill" and closes any large holes in the stone.   Unfilled stone does not have the polyester fill by the factory and it usually looks more rustic.

What are the different finishes for the travertine and marble ?

There are many different finishes for travertine and marble.  Typically, we finish stone in honed, polished, patinato (antiqued) finishes.  Honed is more of a matte look finish - not polished or high honed.  Polished has a shiny appearance to it.  Patinato is actually finished with acid washing then brushing the stone with metal brushes and the appearance is bumpier and it adds a slight patina on the surface of the stone.  It gives the stone a very old world look but it can be a bit slippery when wet.

What is the French Pattern ?

The french pattern is a very old world style pattern used for hundreds of years.  It is sometimes called the "Versailles" pattern, as well.  The pattern has four sizes in the pattern, each pattern is 16 sq. ft which comprises a "set".  The set consists of (2) 16"x24" pavers, (2) 16"x8" pavers, (4) 16"x16" pavers and (4) 8"x8" pavers.

What are travertine pavers ?

Natural travertine Limestone and Marble Pavers are natural Stone pavers quarried in the Turkish mountains and cut to  size in paver thickness. Travertine ( a type of very hard limestone), and marble are the same timeless materials used for buildings construction around the world for centuries. The pyraminds of Egypt, Colluseum in Rome andmany of our state buildins in Washington, Dc are faced with this same materials, because they stand the test of time and also because of their timeless beauty.

Why is sand used to “finish” the job ?

Sand helps secure the pavers, but do not confuse it with grout. With sweeping and hosing, the sand will work itself between the bricks and eventually disappear.

Should my pavers be sealed ?

The bricks at our outdoor showroom have been sealed. Sealing will keep the sand in, but will make the pavers look shiny or wet. Most we suggest that pavers be sealed after 30 to 60 days, so that they have time to totally cure out.
